  • Christmas Spending

    Fri 29 Nov 2019

We look forward to seeing you at the Christmas Fair this Saturday. A huge thank you to all those parents and carers who have donated items or have volunteered their time. (Cakes donations will still be welcome at the start of the fair.) During the busy run-up to Christmas, please don't miss the opportunity to donate to Yattendon when ordering online. Friends of Yattendon are registered on 'easyfundraising.org.uk'. Many of the key websites you use support this and, with no cost to yourself, will donate an amount to the school for every purchase you make. The school has raised over £1000.00 this way, but we only have 50 people currently registered. Please spend a few minutes registering and naming 'Friends of Yattendon' as your choice of good causes to support. Thank you very much for your help!

  • Parent Consultations Next Week

    Fri 22 Nov 2019

I would like to offer a huge thank you to the office staff who have worked hard to book appointments for just over eighty parents and carers who had not booked an appointment online. We have used the online system for several years now and I would appeal to those who didn’t book an appointment in this way to do so in the future. It is very straightforward and enables you to select an appointment convenient to you. If you have been allotted an appointment by our office team, but cannot make this for any reason, please let our office know via Studybugs (ideally) or by phone. It is really important that you can speak to your child’s teacher and hear about your child’s progress so far this year.

  • Parent and Carer Council

    Fri 15 Nov 2019

The next meeting of the PCC will be Tuesday 19th November. We will be discussing the new approach to home learning and would like to hear your views on transition (your child’s move from infant to junior school) to see if we can do anything better. We had five parents along to the meeting last time, but would ideally like to see more. If you are interested in joining the council (a chance for you to share your perspective with the school and come up with joint solutions), I would love to hear from you. Please email beforehand or just come along on Tuesday. If you can’t make it, but would like to share your views, please email pcc@yattendon.surrey.sch.uk.

  • Anti-bullying Week

    Fri 08 Nov 2019

Next week is anti-bullying week and we will be holding assemblies on this year’s theme of ‘change starts with us’. As well as discussing and exploring this important issue, we will be reminding the children of the various ways they can make sure staff know about any bullying behaviour that may be going on so that it can be tackled properly. Fortunately, incidents of bullying at Yattendon are rare, but we need to be vigilant and constantly remind children of the importance of speaking up. I will let you know more about the week in the next Friday Flyer.
