  • Football Victory!

    Thu 19 Oct 2017

On Wednesday afternoon our Year 5/6 Girls Football team competed in a seven-a-side football tournament hosted at Ardingly College. We played in a league alongside Ardingly,

Cumnor House and St. Bede's. The girls were incredible across the entire afternoon, with outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship and understanding of the game. Our results were: 3-0, 2-0, 6-0 and 3-0. It is exceptional to play four matches without conceding a goal, particularly against some very talented opposition. We finished on top of the league table with maximum points. Brooke was awarded the 'Stand-Out Player Award' and was recognised for her superb attacking ability, unselfish style of play and tremendous technique. The whole team worked together and every member shone. An extremely successful afternoon and one that the Yattendon community should be very proud of.

We are very pleased for Mr Chris Jowett who was successful in a recent interview for the role of Head Teacher in a new school in Redhill. Situated on the site of Redhill Magistrates Court (now closed), Hatchlands Primary is a new Free School that will be opening in September 2017. Whilst Chris will be with us for a little while yet, we were keen to let you know that he is eventually moving on to pastures new, before he meets with prospective parents for the new school next week. Obviously this is a huge achievement for Chris and, whilst we are sad to see him leave Yattendon next year, we are also very pleased for him. We will be recruiting a new Deputy Head Teacher in the spring term.

  • 6J Class Assembly

    Fri 06 Oct 2017

On Thursday 6J entertained us with a sports-themed assembly showcasing some of the wonderful sporting activities in which the children participate in both in and out of school. They even managed to get the staff involved in some of the more physically demanding aspects of their chosen sport. Seeing Miss Riddell riding across the school hall on the back of a hobby-horse was a sight that I won’t easily forget! Well done 6J!
