  • End of another Year!

    Fri 20 Jul 2018

And so another year comes to a close and what a year it has been! Hopefully you have all read ‘Year at Yattendon’ (available to download here) and have a taste of the rich learning children have experienced throughout the year.

It is a sad time when we say farewell and good luck to our Year six children and colleagues who are moving on. It is also the end of an era at Horley Infant School as Hilary Salter moves on to her next adventure. I wish her a very long and happy

    retirement.

A huge thank you, too, to Gemma Wilcox who is standing down as Chair of Governors. Her unswerving support (given voluntarily) over the last few years - as a governor, Vice Chair and Chair - has been invaluable and I am forever grateful to her.

Today Year Six performed their second leavers’ assembly capturing their favourite memories of their time at Yattendon. This is always an emotional day and a fair few tears were shed. As I said in the assembly, all the staff wish them very happy and fulfilling lives. We know they are more than ready for the next part of their educational journey.

  • Music Concert at Oakwood

    Fri 06 Jul 2018

On Wednesday evening our Pop Choir (ably led by Mrs Ballard) took to the stage at Oakwood School contributing their part in a Horley schools concert. The children sang their hearts out along with the audience, at one stage, with encouragement from an enthusiastic Mrs Ballard! Well done to all the children involved.
