District Sports
Mon 07 Jul 2025A highlight of the week was watching Yattendon children compete in District Sports at K2 on Thursday. What a wonderful, supportive and enthusiastic group of children they were! The morning of sport was so exciting. All the children tried their best and we had many winning performances. Of course, every child was a winner in their own right.
The Year 5 girls relay was particularly tight with Chim (far right in the photo) overtaking the one girl in front on the last leg to claim first place. For the team.
A big thank you to all the parents who attended and gave their support.

Last Football Tournament
Mon 23 Jun 2025Last Friday was our last football tournament of the academic year. Our Year 3 boys played against 5 other local schools. Some tight defending and a goal by Liam saw us win one game and draw two others leading to us placing joint second in the tournament. As always, our team not only demonstrated excellent football skills but, just as importantly, respectful behaviour.

Fundraising Success
Tue 20 May 2025Following a marathon fundraising effort selling ‘squishies’ that they have handmade, Isla and Georgia in Year 6 delivered cheques totalling £132.51 to total to three charities: The British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research UK and The British Red Cross. They organised this fundraising effort off their own backs and spent hours of their time making their squishies at home and selling them in school. A huge congratulations goes to both girls.

Hockey Tournament
Mon 24 Mar 2025Written by Sebastian
We had a fantastic time in our hockey tournament. Although we didn't win, we all still have fun. In our first match, we played Langshott, where we unfortunately lost our game, despite doing our best. In our second match, even though we lost, we didn't stop pushing for a goal until the very end. That game finished 3-1. In our last game, our luck turned and we ended up winning 4-0. A big thank you to Miss Burgess and Mr Roberts as well as all the parents who supported us.

Girls Football Tournament News
Tue 18 Mar 2025Last Friday, the year 5/6 girls football tournament took place. In the past, this has seen 10 girls from across the two year groups taking part. However, as we have so many girls at Yattendon engaging in football both in and out of school, we took the opportunity to enter two teams into the tournament. Both teams played with great skill and we kept a clean sheet in all our games. Two goals from Amber meant that one of our teams secured second place in the tournament, while the other team came joint third. As always, the girls showed excellent sporting behaviours and were a credit to the school.
