Learning Support Assistant (LSA) & Midday Assistant (MDA)
(part time: mornings & term time only)
Required to start as soon as possible in Autumn term 2020 or start of Spring term 2021.
Hours: 21.75 hours /week in total, comprising 16.75 morning LSA hours /week, plus an additional 5 hours / week for Midday (lunchtime) Assistant [MDA] duties.
Contract: This is a part-time, term-time-only (38 weeks per year) contract, plus a requirement for occasional INSET days for training (for which additional hours are paid). The contract is tied in to the needs of a particular pupil (currently Year 4) and will continue until the pupil’s needs are reviewed or the child leaves the school, so with the intention of rolling forward to future years, subject to on-going need.
Surrey Pay: £17,663-£18,607 pa FTE dep. on experience for LSA role (from £6,889pa pro rata);
£17,457 pa FTE for MDA role (£2,032 pa pro rata)

Learning Support Assistants work either one-to-one with particular children, or in leading small group work or in supporting class teachers across a particular year group. You will need to be enthusiastic, dedicated and prepared to work closely within a team to provide engaging and purposeful learning opportunities for our children. You will be proactive and able to use your initiative to help build positive and respectful working relationships with particular children, some of whom may have challenging needs. You will also need a love of learning and to be open to continuing professional development in order to improve your own knowledge and experience to meet the ever-changing needs of our children.
