This Week

All this week Yattendon School has been thinking scientifically! Our week got off to a flying start with a visit from Eagle Heights Bird Sanctuary and a couple of their feathered friends. The children were able to learn about the different species of birds and how each one is adapted to their environment. As the week progressed, each year group began investigations of their own. Year 3 looked at creating self-watering devices for their plants whilst Year 4 investigated different materials and the digestive system! Year 5 planned to send rockets up into the air and also safely bring their eggs down in parachutes - a cracking eggsperiment! Year 6 created their very own lava lamps to look at the density of oil and water and each class created butter from cream. An exciting week of investigation and invention!
