Happy Holidays!

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a year it has been at Yattendon!  Not only have the children grown in size over the last year, they have also grown in confidence! They have progressed admirably with their learning and, as always, have passionately embraced all the rich learning opportunities available to them. Our goal of developing the ‘whole child’ remains crucially important to us and, as we reflect on the year gone past, we can say with confidence that we have achieved this. I would like to thank all of the staff at Yattendon who continually go the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that the children have the very best learning experiences. Evidence of this was in abundance during our performances last week. The children’s confidence and energy provided fabulous entertainment. I don’t think I’ve ever known such enthusiastic positive feedback from parents. The children involved made their Headteacher very proud indeed. I would  like to thank our dedicated group of school Governors for supporting the leadership of the school over the last year in this busy and exciting time. I would also like to thank the FoY for their tireless efforts in raising much needed money for the school. Can I also say a big thank you to all the Parents and Carers who take such a keen interest in the children's learning and keep the love of learning alive at home. Lastly, I would like to say how proud I am to be the Headteacher of a school with such lovely children.  Not only do I see how hard the children work every day, I also receive constant positive feedback about how impressed people are with our children's exemplary behaviour, their positive attitudes, their sportsmanship and their impeccable manners.

Although we will be very sad to see our Year 6 children leave, we know that the children have now acquired all the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to flourish at their new schools. Furthermore, our Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 children can confidently take the next step on their Yattendon adventure with a smile, continuing to make good progress in their learning. On behalf of  everyone at Yattendon, we hope that you have a fantastic summer holiday and enjoy some quality time with your children once we break up on Tuesday. Let’s hope that the six weeks brings some beautiful weather wherever you find yourself. We very much look forward to seeing you on Thursday 3rd September for the first day of the new academic year.

With best wishes,
Dave Cole
