FoY News

The friends would like to say a big thank you to all those who help out and attended the fireworks night. It was a great success and helps us raise over £1800.00 for the school. This will go towards tablets for the school which can be used on the schools new wireless system.

Also don’t forget Bags2School collection is on Monday 9th November. Please drop bags to be recycled at the buddy base in the morning before school.

Last year the FOY joined the Bag2School Textile Recycling scheme, this enables us to raise funds for the school by collecting unwanted but reusable clothing etc.
Collection sacks will be sent home with each child this week, for you to fill with any unwanted items and return to the school if you wish to do so.

PLEASE NOTE:
Bag2School ACCEPTS the following items: men’s, ladies and children’s clothing; paired shoes; handbags; hats; bags; scarves and ties; jewellery; lingerie; belts and soft toys.

Bag2School WILL NOT ACCEPT the following items: duvets, bedding, blankets and household linen; pillows and cushions; carpets, rugs and mats (including bath, shower and toilet mats); curtains; towels; soiled, painted, ripped or wet clothing; school uniforms; corporate clothing and workwear; textile off cuts, yarns or threaded material.

The school will be paid £400.00 per tonne of items collected, so this could be a great way to raise funds. Please start collecting suitable items and help us make our collection a bumper one!

Christmas Fair
The Christmas Fair is fast approaching and we are once again asking for your support. We appreciate it is an expensive time of the year but just a small contribution from each family supporting our mufti days means we can make a big profit for our kids to spend in school and makes for a fun Christmas Fair. The Christmas Fair is on Saturday 28th November from 11.00am until 2.00pm and we have three mufti days scheduled and ask you to bring in the following items for each date. Collection will be in hall and we thank you in advance and encourage you to keep the Christmas Fair free so you can come along.

Wednesday 11th November: Sweets or chocolate
Friday 20th November: Nearly new toys or gifts suitable for Mum and Dad
Friday 27th November: Bottles for tombola and cakes

If you would like to help out at the Christmas fair we would love to hear from you. We are meeting on Monday 9th November after school drop off in staff room if you would like to help or have any fabulous ideas. Also, if you work for a company that matches funds made and are happy to help us out with this please let us know. We can be contacted through the office, via email or through our Friends of Yattendon Facebook page.
