Yattendon gymnasts compete for first time

On Wednesday 8th March a team of 20 gymnasts from Yattendon competed in the Redhill and Reigate Primary Schools gymnastics competition at Donyngs Leisure Centre.

Despite some early nerves, every one of the gymnasts performed their three events to the best of their abilities and represented the school brilliantly. Our year 3 and 4 team produced some excellent performances of which they should all be very proud, although they weren’t quite able to finish in the top 3 medal positions. However, our year 5 and 6 team enjoyed individual success in each of the three competitions. In the ‘body management’ event, 3 Yattendon gymnasts, Emily, Abigail and Paulina, finished in joint 3rd place. In the ‘floor routine’ competition, Madi finished in 3rd place and in the vault Madi produced two excellent vaults to secure a fantastic second place.

This was an excellent performance from all our gymnasts in Yattendon’s first ever gymnastics competition. Thank you to the parents and carers who came to support our children.
