Extended Services

Welcome to Yattendon School’s Extended Services page. In 2003, the Government published a green paper called Every Child Matters. The green paper built on existing plans to strengthen preventative services by focusing on four key themes:
  1. Increasing the focus on supporting families and carers
  2. Ensuring necessary intervention takes place before children reach crisis point and protecting children from falling through the net
  3. Addressing the underlying problems identified in the report into the death of Victoria Climbié – weak accountability and poor integration
  4. Ensuring the people working with children are valued, rewarded and trained. Every Child Matters is the Government's aim for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to achieve five core outcomes.
Extended services are the delivery mechanism for the well-being of all children and young people.

“Extended schools are Every Child Matters in action.”
Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, September 2007

We hope this page will strengthen our home/school partnership and thus ensure improved outcomes for all children in our school.

**OSCAHS AFTER SCHOOL CLUB & OSCAHS BREAKFAST CLUB**

OSCAHS have recently had Ofsted inspections at two of their other After School Club setttings which are based in the Crawley area. They are very pleased to announce that they were graded as 'Good' at both settings. The same high level of childcare service is of course available at our Yattendon School setting. If you would like to view either of OSCAH's Ofsted reports please contact OSCAHs (yattendon@oscahs.co.uk) and Elaine will bring a copy into the setting. Unfortunately, as the inspections have only just taken place, OSCAHs are still awaiting updates on the Ofsted website.
